For the last six years representatives for music magazines from around the world annualy vote for the best products under the name Musikmesse International Press Award (M.I.P.A.). This year 58 magazines took part in the vote in more than 40 categories.

At a ceremony held during Frankfurt Musikmesse, Nord Electro 2 was presented the winner in the category Best Organ/Portable Keyboard. This category was won for the second year in a row, and the year before the same instrument won the category Best Stage Piano.

Other Clavia instruments that have won a M.I.P.A. award are Nord Modular (2000) and Nord Lead 3 (2002), both in the category Best Synthesizer.
