Clavia news at Musikmesse 2006
|
At the Musikmesse Clavia will present several interesting news.
In our boot you will get the chance to put your hands on and
try out our entire product line as well as talk to people from
the product and software development team.
The Nord Stage family expanded
Introduced exclusively at the fair will be a new addition to
the Nord Stage family, the Nord Stage Compact. This new keyboard
has all the powerful features and the same quality sounds of
the Nord Stage 76/88 note keyboards, except for a 73 note semi-weighted "waterfall" (square front)
keyboard and a more lightweight and compact design.
The Nord Stage Compact has the same keyboard feel as our famous
Nord Electro and this should be really appealing to organ and
synth players. Weighing just under 10kg (9,7kg) makes this a
perfect keyboard for the road as well as for serious studio
work.
Two new Grands and OS v2.00 for the Nord Stage family
In addition to new features and improvements two new Grand Pianos
are released together with the new OS. One close-miked version
of the Steinway D wich produces a dryer sound and one luxury
version of the Yamaha C7 with even more velocity layers wich
adds more realism and feel to this beautifully recreated version
of the C7. For more info and download click here.
Two New Grands and OS v3.00 for the Nord Electro
Released together with the new OS are two new grands Yamaha
C7 and Steinway D close. These pianos were taken from the Nord
Stage library, and sets a new standard for the Nord Electro
Grand Piano sound. For more info and download click here.
OS v1.40 for the Nord Modular G2
The main new feature in version 1.40 for the Nord Modular G2
is the evolutionary patch mutator. This was developed in collaboration
with composer and researcher Palle Dahlstedt based on his research
in computer aided creativity.
The Patch Mutator is a toolbox for creating new patch variations
guided by your ear. It will help you explore different knob
settings within a certain patch by simply listening and selecting
the sounds you like. Most patches can generate a vast range
of different sounds, but it is tedious and difficult to explore
them manually, because of the sheer number of parameters in
a patch, and because of the difficulty to predict the sonic
results.
In an interactive process inspired by natural evolution, the
Patch Mutator creates a number of variations for you, based
on one Mother sound, or based on a Mother and a Father, or more
or less random. You listen to these new Children sounds one
at a time, and select which one will be the parent of the next
generation of children. This process can be repeated any number
of generations, until you find the sounds you want.
The Patch Mutator is designed for speed and ease of use, with
great care put into the interface design. In a few minutes you
can create whole sets of new sounds, or series of interesting
variations on existing sounds. The evolutionary approach makes
it very different from simple patch randomizers available in
some synthesizer editors. For more info and download click here.
